When does GATE 2027 registration open and close?

GATE 2027 registration opened on 2 September 2026 on GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System), the application portal linked from the official GATE 2027 website, gate2027.iitm.ac.in. The regular window, with no late fee, closes on 27 September 2026. A candidate who misses that date can still apply until 5 October 2026 with an extra Rs 500 per paper.

Why did GOAPS open later than planned?

When can I correct my GATE 2027 application?

The application rectification window will be open from 14 to 21 October 2026, after both the regular and late-fee windows close. IIT Madras will specify the fields that can be modified and the applicable correction rules. The date of birth fetched through DigiLocker cannot be changed during the application process. When will the GATE 2027 admit card be released?

In GATE 2026, the admit card was released on 13 January, about three weeks before the first exam. This provides historical context only; IIT Madras has not announced a GATE 2027 admit card release date. Check the GATE 2027 admit card page for the official release once IIT Madras announces it.

Is the exam city allotment the same as the admit card?

No. The exam city allotment notification on 4 January 2027 only confirms the allotted city, not the exam venue, reporting time or paper code. The city allotment notification and admit card are separate. The admit card release date has not yet been announced.

What are the GATE 2027 exam timings?

Each session lasts 3 hours. Each paper is assigned to a specific session. Candidates taking two papers must follow the dates and sessions assigned by GATE 2027. The candidate cannot choose the exam date or session. Eligible PwD candidates can request one hour of compensatory time under the GATE 2027 rules. Candidates with blindness, locomotor disability involving both arms, or cerebral palsy can request it with a valid disability certificate or UDID card. Does GATE 2027 have more exam dates than recent years?

GATE 2027 will be conducted across six dates and will have 30 test papers, including the new Robotics and Automation (RA) paper.

When will the GATE 2027 provisional answer key come out?

IIT Madras has not stated a GATE 2027 provisional key date.
