The JEE Main admit card is an important document for every JEE Main aspirant. It acts as the official entry pass to the examination center and carries key details such as your name, roll number, photograph, exam date, shift and center address. It is also used for identity verification and lists instructions you must follow during the examination. You must carry a clear printed copy of it to the examination center and keep it safe until the admission process is completed. NTA is expected to release admit cards shortly before the respective examination dates, based on recent-years schedules.
JEE Main is conducted in two sessions, generally in January and April. NTA's examination calendar lists JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30 January 2027 (tentative). The Session 2 schedule is yet to be announced. You can download your JEE Main 2027 admit card from jeemain.nta.nic.in using the login credentials NTA specifies for JEE Main 2027. You must carry the admit card along with a valid government-issued ID proof to enter the examination hall. This page also covers how to download the admit card, resolve errors, exam-day guidelines, dress code, timings and venue. Follow the JEE Main 2027 Information Bulletin exactly once NTA releases it.

It is particularly important to verify the date, shift, reporting time and examination-center address because these details determine when and where the candidate must appear.

No. The city-intimation slip and the admit card are not the same document. NTA has previously issued advance examination-city information separately from the admit card. For JEE Main 2026, the official website listed an Advance Intimation for Allotment of Examination City, followed by separate admit-card notices. The city-intimation slip tells you the city where your examination center will be located, while the admit card gives the exam details and instructions you need to appear for the test.
To download the JEE Main city intimation slip, you have to:
Visit the official website of JEE Main.
Look for the link to JEE Main 2027 Session-wise Advance City Intimation.
Log in using the credentials specified by NTA for the 2027 City Intimation Slip.
Under the login, the city slip shall appear.
Download the slip and save it for later.
