IIT Delhi fees depend on your course, your family income and whether you stay in a hostel. The IIT Delhi fees structure follows the fee rules of the Government of India. The IIT Delhi fees details here are for the entry year 2026. Each fee is charged per semester unless the text says otherwise.
The IIT Delhi fees for 4 years of B.Tech are Rs 8,00,000 in tuition before any waiver. The IIT Delhi total fees for a hosteller are about Rs 9.3 lakh, without mess. Your family income decides how much of the tuition you pay.

Tuition Only, Not the Full Bill
The IIT Delhi course fees in this table are tuition only. Hostel, institute charges and one-time fees are extra. The prospectus does not print a course total, so multiply the IIT Delhi course fee by the semesters of your course.
The IIT Delhi MBA fee is Rs 3,00,000 a semester for the full-time course and Rs 4,50,000 for the part-time course. You enter the MBA with a CAT score and an interview.
The IIT Delhi M.Tech fee is Rs 17,500 a semester if you hold an assistantship or a teaching position. Sponsored students and those with no such position pay Rs 75,000 a semester. M.Tech students with GATE usually get financial assistance as per Government of India guidelines.
The IIT Delhi Ph.D. fee is Rs 7,500 a semester for full-time scholars. Part-time or sponsored scholars pay Rs 17,500 a semester. Other institute charges apply on top of this tuition.

The IIT Delhi B.Tech fee is Rs 1,00,000 in tuition a semester, and the first-semester total is Rs 1,31,000 for a hosteller. Dual Degree, B.S. and B.Des. students pay the same tuition. The table shows the first-semester total for the 2026 entry year.

Yes. IIT Delhi fees for CSE and for Textile Technology are the same. The scale depends on income and category, not on the branch.
IIT Delhi fees for OBC-NCL students are the same as for General students in each income band. They get the one-third rate between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, and nil tuition below Rs 1 lakh.
You pay Rs 1,06,000 as a hosteller in the top band, or Rs 97,400 as a day scholar. IIT Delhi adjusts Rs 25,000 of the JoSAA seat fee for General, OBC and EWS students. It adjusts Rs 10,000 for SC, ST and PwD students.
SC, ST and PwD students pay no IIT Delhi B.Tech tuition at any family income. They still pay the institute and hostel charges, so read the last row of the table above.
IIT Delhi fees for the hostel are seat rent of Rs 8,600 a semester and a mess charge of about Rs 36,000. You also pay one-time deposits. The mess charge is tentative and applies to the old hostels. IIT Delhi calculates the actual mess and electricity bill at the end of each semester.

Every student pays the institute charges too. These IIT Delhi fees are Rs 5,750 each semester for exam, registration, gymkhana, medical, internet, transport and a student distress fund. Insurance costs Rs 500 a year. You also pay Rs 8,150 once, which is non-refundable, and Rs 8,000 in refundable deposits.
The IIT Delhi hostel fee in the first semester is Rs 8,600 for seat rent. You also pay the one-time Rs 7,000 and Rs 15,000. Mess is billed separately after the semester. Hostel is not compulsory.
Mess and electricity bills are not part of the IIT Delhi fees, because the institute calculates them after each semester. Books, travel and the cost of living outside the hostel are also extra. The Ph.D. thesis fee is separate too.
You pay IIT Delhi fees online each semester through the ERP or the SBI i-collect facility named in the prospectus. New entrants in July 2026 paid through an HDFC payment gateway link given in the fee circular. Use the link in your own admission email. Challan slips are allowed only in two cases. One is a bank loan for education. The other is an outside scholarship that sends cheques to the institute.

The prospectus does not describe an instalment plan for IIT Delhi fees. If your family income is below Rs 5 lakh, upload the income proof on the e-Academics portal before the emailed deadline. The institute does not extend this deadline. Without proof you pay the full tuition.
IIT Delhi fees are paid per semester, and tuition is charged per semester. Only insurance is a yearly payment, at Rs 500.
IIT Delhi scholarships can cover the full tuition fee, but they do not cover the other charges. A full waiver still leaves IIT Delhi fees of Rs 31,000 in the first semester for a hosteller. Read the IIT Delhi scholarship page for the rules and the donor awards.

Refund dates change with each admission year. Ask the IIT Delhi academics office for the dates of the next admission year.
You get the fee paid less a processing fee of Rs 1,000 if you withdraw by the first date for your acceptance. After that date, you get the security money less Rs 1,000.
