Start with the row that matches your family situation. The IIM Bangalore merit scholarship options depend on your PGP results. They suit students with income above the aid limit.
| Your situation | Start with | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| Household income below Rs 8,00,000 a year | Financial aid | 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% or 100% of the fee |
| Income above the limit, strong PGP grades | Aditya Birla or OPJEMS | A fixed amount, listed in the next section |
| SC, ST or PwD student | Government and category schemes | Some cover tuition in full |
Your CAT Score Does Not Decide Need-Based Aid
Household income, savings, assets and a faculty review decide the amount of aid. Merit awards depend on your PGP grades. Neither one uses your CAT percentile.
The IIM Bangalore fees page shows what the aid is set against.
Yes, the IIM Bangalore scholarship system includes need-based aid and several awards for PGP students. The stated aim is that no student misses out on an education for financial reasons.

Household income below Rs 8,00,000 a year, or severe difficulty from sudden events. Runwal and Ubuntu are merit-cum-means awards, so you must also have applied for financial aid.
All PGP students with annual household income below Rs 8,00,000 can apply for an IIM Bangalore scholarship under the aid scheme. Students with severe financial trouble from sudden events are also considered. The scheme counts income of the student if they worked before joining, and loans that were not taken for conspicuous consumption.
Yes, the IIM Bangalore scholarship list has four schemes for these categories. NTPC gives Rs 48,000 a year. The Tribal Affairs and Social Justice schemes cover tuition in full for ST and SC students in year 1. The PwD scheme pays Rs 2,55,000 a year. State scholarships go through the financial aid office.
You apply for an IIM Bangalore scholarship after you receive a PGP offer, through the institute's financial aid and scholarship office. The aid page does not give application dates or an email address. Use the institute contact page to ask before you accept an offer. This is how to apply for an IIM Bangalore scholarship in practice. The office can confirm the IIM Bangalore scholarship details 2027 for your batch.
Step 1
Receive Your PGP Offer
You apply for aid after the offer, not before it.
Step 2

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Social Justice invite applications for the National Scholarship for Higher Education. ST and SC students in year 1 can apply. State scholarships go through the IIM Bangalore financial aid and scholarship office. Check the official portals for dates, as they change each year.
The aid page does not list a document checklist for an IIM Bangalore scholarship, so confirm it with the admissions office. The aid score uses four criteria, which tell you what to keep ready.

The IIM Bangalore scholarship selection process uses two scores for aid and grades for merit awards. The Financial Aid Committee first gives a financial status score. After the faculty talk, it gives a financial need score. The weighted average of the two scores sets aid at 100%, 80%, 60%, 40% or 20%.
